- Focus: When working with a knife, give the job your full attention.
- Cutting Board: Always use a cutting board and do not hold food in your hand while you cut it.
- The sharper the safer: Always keep your knife sharp, dull knives require more force and are more prone to cause injuries
- Careful: Don’t check the sharpness of a knife with your fingers.
- A knife, nothing more, nothing less: Don’t use a knife for unintended purposes or you might break it and hurt yourself in the process (it’s not a screwdriver, can opener, hammer, ice pick, box cutter or pry bar!).
- Storage: Store them properly, preferably in a knife rack and not with other small objects lying around.
- Let it go: Never try to catch a falling knife, quickly step aside and let it fall.
- Not for kids: Always keep away from children.
