A few starter tips on how to safely use your knife  right away.

 

  • Focus: When working with a knife, give the job your full attention.
  • Cutting Board: Always use a cutting board and do not hold food in your hand while you cut it.
  • The sharper the safer: Always keep your knife sharp, dull knives require more force and are more prone to cause injuries
  • Careful: Don’t check the sharpness of a knife with your fingers.
  • A knife, nothing more, nothing less: Don’t use a knife for unintended purposes or you might break it and hurt yourself in the process (it’s not a screwdriver, can opener,  hammer, ice pick, box cutter or pry bar!).
  • Storage: Store them properly, preferably in a knife rack and not with other small objects lying around.
  • Let it go: Never try to catch a falling knife, quickly step aside and let it fall.
  • Not for kids: Always keep away from children.
